MAC Address

Definition: Media Access Control Address. A hardware address that uniquely identifies each node of a network.

Magnitude

Definition: The value of a unit or quantity.

MIMO

Definition: Multiple Input, Multiple Output. MIMO takes advantage of multipath effects that deliver a signal through a number of different paths. Each path can have a different time delay which results in multiple instances of a single transmitted symbol arriving at the received at different times.

Milli(m)

Definition: One-thousandth of a unit of measure. Example - Millimeter.

MMI

Definition: Man-machine interface.

MSB

Definition: Most significant bit. In a binary number the most significant bit is the most weighted bit in the number. This means that the MSB is the left-most number.

Multimeter

Definition: An electronic instrument that can be measure voltage, current and resistance. Advanced multimeters can measure other variables as well.

Multipath

Definition: Radio transmission Effect that creates a multipath. Refers to the simultaneous reception of copies of two copies of the signal. Multipath is an undesired effect except in MIMO systems that deliberately send in replicas to the receivers which can piece them together.

Logic Circuits

Definition: Electronic circuits that respond to a series of ones and zeros on the inputs.

Logic Gates

Definition: Devices that have two or more inputs and a single output.
