Weller is out of touch at this point

I bought this smart Weller station, handles, tweezers, stands, tips and inserts worth $2500 here on Tequipment a few months ago. The station was delivered directly by Weller / Apex USA. It arrived in its destroyed retail box without any shipping box, let alone packing material. The unit almost fell out of the bottom of the retail box when I picked it up. Most of the small boxes with the tips also arrived smashed, in an envelope. The station had finger prints on the touch screen. There was no protective film. It appeared to me as a demo unit or return, that was shipped around before.
The touch-screen is laggy and frustrating to work with.
These pro level station are not made in Germany anymore, but Mexico, like the cheap ones, and they kept the price level of German made tools. A total no-go at this point.
Needless to say, I returned this station. This process took about 3 weeks because it needed to go back to Weller / Alex directly and they took their time.
Weller used to be a quality brand but ever since it with bought by this investment company, its been stagnant and now going downhill.
I ended up buy a complete JBC system here on Tequipment and couldn't be happier.
