It's a soldering iron. It does what you want, and does it well. This is replacing a Weller WMP iron. The tip is a little larger than I'm used to, so I'll probably get an XNT1 tip. I like that the tip prices are cheaper. Also, no tools required for tip changing. Overall, an improvement over the WMP. And, works with the older WD1 "power unit".
