I worked in a surface water testing laboratory, and the E-Pure worked flawlessly for so long that we forgot the cartridges wouldn't last forever. By the time we remember to ask about the cartridges -- it was still going strong, and Thermo Scientific gave us several more years' of run-time. Hurricane Harvey wiped out the lab, and we had an opportunity to get some different Type I water systems, after shopping around, we came back to our tried-and-trusted E-Pure. NELAP-certified, we never failed a test for water. CAVEAT: Our source water to the E-Pure had zero hardness (out of the tap) due to the location; higher hardness water systems might not fare so well, so additional pretreatment might be necessary.
