Reviewers have commented the display is not backlit and is hard to see. I'm using it on a bench under F)32 striplight but the instrument is partly shaded and it is easily readable from 4-5 ft. The LCD has large-multimeter digits; horz and is > 45deg. verticals are /-15deg standard for a reflective but contrast is excellent. As for the Counter itself; using it for EU ISM-band (868MHz) and, with -8dBm, 10sec capture it is getting 9 digits i.e 1Hz with no jitter at all. Follows the VCO/PLL walkdown monotonically, no reversals. So, using it just a week but stable and competent device. Remote interface is nice and simple. No prob making a Reader script.
