I'm impressed with the features on the CMP-200. It's pointing towards a wiring condition, as opposed to a hardware component issue, which I was hoping to avoid. Just suddenly cropped up and started tripping a 20A GCFI when leaking around 6.4mA to ground in a basement. Nothing changed in there, but with ALL OF THE COMPONENTS OFF, and the GCFI pulled from the circuit, then just wire-nutted the phase, neutral, and ground together for testing, this meter picked up a low leak of around around 4.8mA with everything on the circuit unplugged. After those hardware items were slowly turned on in that circuit, it went to 8.4mA before everything was brought back online. A really good little meter. 12/3 wiring run is WAY short of the maximum run, and not very old, but, apparently needs replacement. Maybe an insulated staple inside the wall somewhere was hammered just a bit too hard. I'll replace in sections from the circuit box out, and measure as I go. thank God I picked up this meter, or I would have never have identified this issue without it. Two thumbs up to the Sonel designers, and I'm a double masters MIT grad!
