The system is a venerable workhorse that has been available since the early 90's. System quality, reliability, longevity, durability and sustainability have been proven through millions of military operating hours. In fact, the PRC 2000 is a central component of the Navy's 2M Miniature/Microminiature Repair Program. The 2M Program provides the tools and techniques required for certified Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard electronic repair technicians to perform highly reliable, high quality repairs on complex circuit card assemblies. System, handpieces, tips, accessories and spare parts are extensively supported by National/NATO Stock Numbers (NSN's)
The PRC 2000 can tackle just about any Thru-Hole, SMT application, and is well suited for multilayer repairs on damaged or prototype PCBs. Featuring 3 simultaneously active SensaTemp handpiece channels, a built-in paste dispenser, MicroChine for removing conformal coatings or grinding away PCB laminate, and pulse heat technology. The PRC 2000's Thermal Management Center powers and controls three SensaTemp handpieces simultaneously for safe, rapid installation and removal of virtually all surface mount and thru-hole components. It is fully self-contained with three separate pumps: one for desoldering, hot air jet and thermal pick handpieces; another for solder paste/liquid flux dispensing; and finally a separate pump for Pik-Vac Component Handling Wand. Other features include continuous automatic calibration, temperature setback/auto-off safety system, constant memory, password protection and more!

PACE PRC 2000 - 8007-0132 - A Rework WorkHorse
I've worked in the electronic / electrical field since 1980 as a Professional Engineer. I've used a lot of the rest, and, I know the best. When I have used the PACE equipment in the past, it was always rock solid. I've used one of these PACE PRC 2000 back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Prior to that I used PACE equipment in the Military keeping computerized vans working. This one here I bought for my own home shop this time. When you have been doing things as long as I have, I have a good understanding of what lasts and what doesn't. What will take a beating and what will not. Though there is some assembly needed to this very large kit, when receiving a unit like this one, it's well worth the time it took me to assemble it. The picture here doesn't do what you purchase justice. There is a lot more in the box than what is in the picture. I also know of people who use the PRC 2000 for there own arts and crafts. Though it is for electronic reworking, I have seen it used otherwise by others, of which wouldn't use anything else after acquiring this system. Your buying something tried and trued by the Federal Government and the Military. And, they keep on buying them today. As you can see, this is the best of the best. It includes all kinds of reworking tools that any serious person in the field would love to have at their command.
