I thought this would be a great alternative to having to carry a much bigger digital Fluke multimeter just to test circuits before replacing an outlet or light switch, and I was wrong. The unit is supposed to make an audible beep when turning on as a test, so it would beep when detecting voltage - it does not most of the times, and you need to restart it many times in order to get it to work properly.
The biggest issue is that it won't detect voltage correctly when plugged into an outlet. It would detect voltage when inserted into the outlet but if you measure then there's no voltage (0V).
