I've had a few moisture meters since I started turning in 2008. One of the cheap ones I initially bought was ADOA (almost dead on arrival - meaning it lasted only a couple days). I gave my last cheap one away to a cousin who had a need for moisture content in woody plant stalks. Then in my effort to replace this one, happened upon the pinless concept. I tried the Klein out of the box without reading one word of the instructions - it was so intuitive and easy to use, I still haven't read them. Very nice bright reading display, drywall, hardwood, softwood, and masonry are the modes, a nice "Hold" feature freezes the content, easy to position accurately, lightweight, but very sturdy construction, and very repetitive over time for the same piece of stock and the specific area tested. Highly recommend! I have very high confidence that this meter is giving me very accurate information every time.
