JBC CD-1BQF - Compact Series Soldering Station with T245-A General Purpose Handle

THE standard for a soldering workstation

5.0

You'll undoubtedly take a look at the price and think "woah, this is out of control, I can get so many different irons for less!" The design is interesting though, so you'll continue to take a look. "Gosh, the tips are so expensive though," you'll think as you browse through the absolutely insane range of offerings. You decide to give it a shot anyways. Well, crap. It's not just alright. It's absolutely fantastic. You're spoiled. You can't go back to your pre-JBC iron life. Simply put, the JBC CD station does what it says on the tin. (Pun intended.) It gets hot when you want it to, and stays cool when you don't. The actual stand is fantastic, keeping together your tips and cleaning tools, while also giving you an easy way to let you take advantage of the iron's best feature: The near immediate sleep and hibernate. Because the tip immediately drops in temperature when you have it in the stand, the life of your tips will far outshine basically any other iron. Suddenly spending $27 for a tip doesn't sound nearly that bad when they're lasting you as long as they do. The iron's ability to heat to your working temperature in mere seconds will seems like a magic trick, and you'll be wowed at how quickly it can return to heat between joints. Likewise, upon putting the tool in the station, you'll wonder how the temperature can drop so quickly with nothing else cooling the tip. You won't be mad you spent money on this. You'll only be mad you didn't buy it sooner.
