Instek MDO-2204EX - 4 Ch/200 MHz DSO with Spectrum Analyzer, 25 MHz AWG, DMM and Power Supply

Very versatile scope

5.0

I bought it here at Tequipment.net The good 1. The basic scope is very capable and fast 2. Once you get used to the menu and buttons, you will be able to work things quickly 3. Spectrum Analyzer updates are very fast 4. FFT updates are very fast 5. FFT and Spectrum Analyzer displays show all the scales and parameters unlike Rigol FFT on their scopes. 6. AWG outputs are very useful. You can sweep frequencies. 7. Autoset works as expected. 8. Bode plot app is downloadable for frequency and phase measurements of your DUT The bad (not many) 1. The vertical setting of 1mv/div forces the scope to 20Mhz limit according to the user manual, but I did not see any indication of this when I measured a 50Mhz signal, and there was no indication on the display that shows it is limited to 20Mhz BW. So I am still not sure if the measurement was accurate since I did not have a way to know the source level of the signal. 2. When sweeping a signal from 1Hz to 20Khz using the AWG, I tried changing the acquisition memory to 10M Pt and I crashed the scope, twice, but I could not reproduce this again. So there are still bugs in FW ver 1.38. I dont see any crash fixes in newer FW and I did not upgrade to see it they are fixed. YMMV. 3. It is cumbersome to set the FFT and Spectrum Analyzer parameters. Both of these functions are less intuitive to use. There is no way to turn off the time domain waveform in FFT 4. Spectrum Analyser does not indicate when the front end ADC is overdriven, so you might see harmonics that are not there in the original signal. 4. It is cumbersome to set the frequency values using the Variable knob. They should provide an onscreen keyboard to set the values quickly
