The first thing you will notice is the DAKKS calibration is 5 pages. No short cuts were taken. Then you will note the quality of the switches , installing the batteries ,opens a veiw into the quality built into what is for Gossen their affordability priced offering. Even in a sub $500.00 meter they are using medical grade composites, the most heavy duty switches and machine screws into brass pillers. No plastic stand offs with sheet metal screws! So after a few battery changes the case isn't worn out. With every product there are trade offs , Gossen chose to put their resources into the internal workings of their product as where their competition focused on making theirs water proof and more likely to survive a 10ft. Drop. The gossen is in my opinion the better option unless you worknin a very harsh environment. And are prone to destroying meters. The Gossen Metrahit World has all the functions most people need and more safety built in . For example not only is it very well fused but it appears to have resistors as back up that will blow to save you as well. And you can't brain fart and put the probes into the wrong ports! Also unlike other high end meters the Gossrn probes are very high quality silicone insulated 18 awg. Not PVC. The Gossen is simple to figure out and use , It is German engineering and precision made , meticulously calibrated and built to last. Best meter I have ever owned and at 57 will most likely be the last.
