Very Happy With It

My 2nd T-Equipment purchase and 1st Fluke DMM. 4.5 stars to TE for customer service (phone order) and S&H. Shipment left the warehouse one day late due to heavy pre-holiday business, but I received it "just in time".

#1 reason for buying the Fluke 287 (intentionally w/o PC software) is STAND-ALONE data-logging AND graphing feature (and zoom too!). Many other data-logging DMMs need a PC or Bluetooth device for graphing. I have been giving all the features a good "workout" for the last 4 weeks and everything works as expected.

Wishlist for a 287 successor: Real-time graphing. With the present model, you have to stop recording to watch the graph on the LCD (and then resume recording, if you want to continue). I knew this in advance. Real-time graphing is possible with a PC, but I would like stand-alone operation. Because of this, "only" 4.5 stars. Otherwise, I love my 287.

4.5 is walking on water. 5 would be walking on steam. Hi Fluke R&D guys, can you do the real-time graphing? I would love you guys even more.

Here's what it needs to do better

It's a Fluke, so yeah, it works for measuring electrical properties. But Fluke really needs to step up their game (this is 2018!!!). For $400 , this device needs: a) direct USB connection for power and communications (it currently has an infrared port and you need a special Ir-USB cable, power is only via batteries); this would allow you to monitor something for weeks without worrying your batteries will die; b) large size and vertical orientation makes it unstable - it should support a horizontal orientation also (screen image auto-rotates) so that it can mount on a small desktop stand; c) Bluetooth and Android App (which can retrieve log data or do real-time logging itself, graph the data). d) color TFT
