Good general purpose freq counter
5.0
Good freq counter for general use. Usually does a good job of locking up on most signals automatically, but the manual trigger level can help in some situations. Does not have (or even have an option to add) an OCXO, which is not surprising in this price category. Internal crystal osc is pretty good right out of the factory after warm up, but if you require higher accuracy, or need to get the full 9 digits of resolution, you need to have a 10 MHz freq standard on your test bench (for multiple pieces of your test equipment that can make use use a ref osc). Using even a modest priced GPSDO or better for that purpose can let you use this counter for some work that overlaps the boundary of higher priced units. That makes these counters more of a test bench than a portable / field device normally, but that was my intended use. Display is bright enough and easy to read indoors, and I like the LED display on the bench. If you need an outdoor counter for some uses, the LED's will need you to shade them, which means outdoor use might be better served with an LCD display counter instead.
