The GFL3000 technology has been around for 50 years and is proven effective to pinpoint insulation damage to direct buried cables. I would recommend reviewing available video and written instructions. In addition, desert conditions actually DECREASE meter response because of the HIGHER resistivity of dry soil conditions.
