When measuring an 32kHz RTC crystal frequency, the measurement bounces around 1%. The scope counter mode can measure frequency accurately if you adjust the trigger just right. My old scope has no problem with the same signal. The scope may have problems with 100X probes; the signal appears to jitter up and down, and has problems with triggering. Regarding the free software update, I requested the secret code 3 days ago from their website, called and asked for the code every day, and I still have not go it. Consider your buying options.

Works fine. Seems a bit lightly made. One improvement would be to include a few extra pico-probes. They are delicate and will probably have some failures with time/use.

From the limited testing I have done, this probe seems to be fairly good quality, but in I think it's a little over-priced for what you get, unless you purchase it in the bundle with the oscilloscope.

RIGOL firmware upgrades over the years have made it a lot more stable and the scope is a great value. I'm still putting it through its paces and occasionally will get a software lockup, but the UI is readable, the screen is large, and there is enough customization with the features on screen to see what I need to.
