For a long time I've thought about upgrading from my WES51 to the WESD51, but I did not like it and I certainly don't think the digital model is worth the $$$ compared to the analog one.

It's still the best soldering station available for my needs. I had multiple ec2000 series prior to this one;
parts are no longer available for them
The interchangeable tips make an enourmous asset especially with the digital readout.

Overall, an excellent purchase experience. Great price. Speedy delivery. And a superior product in the WESD51. THe digital control is great. This is a great station for someone trying to do more controlled and delicate work for longer periods. I've tried some other popular brands; they're nice. But the Weller just feels and functions like a great unit. There's a reason stations are compared to this brand. Trust your instinct.
