This is a great little instrument, easy to use (very user friendly), and durable enough to withstand frequent use in a moderately harsh environment.
The rubber boot that was included adds an extra layer of protection without adding a lot of bulk or taking away from the simple design. I've used other similar instruments that have a lot of bells and whistles that can be a little overwhelming, or on the other extreme are so basic that they are almost worthless. This unit strikes a nice balance, in that the design is simple enough to meet the most basic needs, but it also offers a few extras like ambient, dewpoint, and wetbulb temps, and the record and recall function - not to mention the capability to upload data to a PC. (I have not used that option so I can't comment on how well that function is designed.)
All things considered, I like the simple design and easy to use interface, and I really like that it has been in service over a year, carried in and out of a moderately harsh environment, and it continues to work as well as it did when I first took it out of the box. Highly recommend.
