The Sonel PQM-711 Power Quality Analyzer (Class A) is an advanced product for a wide type of measurements, analysis and recording of network parameters 50/60 Hz and the power quality diagnostic according to the world’s different standards. The PQM-711 is an innovative model with wireless communication Wi-Fi, which works with the included tablet, with a large 10" touch screen. Tablet allows full operating of the analyzer, live data preview and the reading and analysis of data stored in the internal memory. With this solution, the PQM-711 is a unique device that combines the advantages of the analyzer with a built-in display and typical portable analyzers (known as Black Boxes).

With the tablet, you can quickly check the device under test. On the other hand, you can leave the analyzer module for multi-measurements as a typical logger without display. You can quickly diagnose the machine under test using the tablet. You can leave the analyzer module itself for many days of measurement as a typical logger without display. The PQM-711 has a transient recorder (spikes in voltage) with a maximum sampling rate of 10 MHz. The minimum duration of the registered transient is 650 ns.

Addressed to a wide range of users

The analyzer is addressed to a wide range of users who need to control the power quality with a mobile device, it meets the IEC 61000-4-30 standards for Class A. Compliance with the standard includes measurement uncertainty, measurement methods and time synchronization with a reference signal. In the case of using an analyzer indoor with a poor GPS signal, an additional antenna with 10 meters cable can be used. After placing the antenna outside the GPS signal will be easily traced and used for internal clock synchronization.

In practice, the analyzer may be used with all network types with rated voltage from 110 V to 690 V, directly or indirectly via transducers. It works in the following networks:

• One-phase
• Split-phase with N wire
• Three-phase Wye type, with and without N wire
• Three-phase delta type
• With DC voltage

The PQM-711 is an invaluable tool for identifying power quality events such as interruptions, sags, swells and transients. Under NFPA-70E safety rules, the tools electrical engineers use and the protective gear they wear when working with high voltages are classified as PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). All PPE must be rated for safe operation and personal protection. It’s good to know that the PQM-711 comes with a CAT IV 600 V safety rating. It’s also good to know that after making voltage and current connections engineers can get relief from wearing cumbersome gloves and claustrophobic hoods for long periods.

After making the initial connections and moving a few feet away from high voltages, their gloves, visors, and headgear can be safely removed. Using the built-in Wi-Fi wireless communications engineers can remotely control the analyzer, check connections, start/stop a monitoring session, and download data from a tablet or laptop PC - in complete safety!
