I purchased two of the Rigol ADP0150BNC 50 Ohm Impedance Adapters for use with my new Rigol DS 1202Z-E Digital Oscilloscope. My application is repair of amateur radio transceivers. So far they are doing exactly what I needed them to do; providing impedance matching between the scope inputs and rf outputs of the radios. I would also add they were much more affordable than the alternatives.

I used this to connect a 10 MHz signal from a GPSDO to a newly purchased RIGOL Oscope to insure it was functioning properly and had a respectable amount of accuracy on the time base. Connections was made direct using 50 ohm coax with no issues at all. My only concern is the power rating is not marked on the adapter.

At first it seems unimportant to have this adapter but if you are using 50 ohm coaxials , you must use one of these to properly terminate your signal path on a high impedance input device like an oscilloscope

Tested it on my tracking generator on a spectrum analyzer and it did what it said it could do for band range. Then tested well terminating from the 50 ohms coax off the function generator going into the oscilloscope scope for the price.
Want anything better brake the piggy bank Certified precision units lab grade are not cheap.

The new adapter is slicker in design and looks more like a BNC attenuator by someone like Minicircuits. This tiny thing showed up in a huge 10" x 6" box which I felt was unnecessary for a 1" long BNC adapter as a small bubble mailer should of covered it just fine. Anyway the device makes an input to your oscilloscope appear as 50 ohms so you can test small radio transmitters. Don't get too crazy because it looks like it can only handle 250mW or so, but should be good for QRP radios and most exciters.

You see an old picture ( square compartment for 50 Ohms resistor ). In reality you are getting a new smaller design like a BNC connector. Imagine it without square part with rigol name, but only 1/4" longer.
