I see there are several versions of the Pace ST 50. How are they different?
There are four different versions of the ST 50. You can get the power source by itself, or packaged with different soldering irons. Please see below for part numbers and descriptions. •8007-0500 = ST 50 with TD-100 iron •8007-0555 = ST 50 with TD-100 iron and Instant Set Back Stand •8007-0532 = ST 50 with PS-90 iron •8007-0501 = ST 50, power source only, no iron included

Pace ST-50 -- Fantasti

I bought two of these for my workshop. They are fantastic professional grade tools at a great price! The 30 second heat-up time means very little time is wasted on waiting for them to heat up. The high heat reserve and high power make for excellent soldering of high thermal mass parts. The auto setback and auto off feature really do work. This will save tips for those who forget to turn off the irons. After about a half hour they set back and then turn off a while later. The available tip sizes work on everything from 0402 and small QFPs to SMA bulkhead connectors and larger parts. The $11 for the various tips is very reasonable. The auto set back and auto off will make the tips last a long time as most of my tips have been destroyed by baking long intervals when the irons are not being used.
