Clamp function does not measure voltage which was disappointing. CURRENT MEASURE has to be greater than approx 1 amp to get a reading with using the clamp plus the wires must be separated .That is why you would need the accessory to measure AC current that a line cord supplies to the device appliances etc ;otherwise you need to split open the cord to separate the hot & the neutral. TEMPERATURE FUNCTION VERY GOOD and the included wire probes will allow all other electrical measure that the clamping cannot do .
