So far I've used it only to check capacitors, and it is performing great. There will be other uses too, and I expect similar success.

My first multi meter. I wanted something that would check HVAC capacitance on a capacitor and voltage on contractor.

This meter is an absolute must for any home owner.

Do you have an irrigation box, and want to test continuity, just switch it to NCV and the red LED light and meter beeps louder intermittently to continuous as you (EF) on display, or as the voltage increases. I also checked resistance with ohms on solenoids to isolate if my solenoids were defective.

By pinpointing situations, you can fix things before you schedule a service call.

Lastly, would highly recommend Tequipment.net, they are an authorized Fieldpiece distributor

Meter has a very high build quality, Made in Taiwan, Fieldpiece has very stringent quality controls, each meter has a certificate number of calibration and the tech support team in Anaheim, CA took the time to help me understand how to use my meter correctly.

Go ahead and get the SC 260, I also purchased the Fieldpiece alligator clips leads a must for those hard to get to areas.

The Field Piece Meter SC 260 is an excellent meter. We have used Field piece meters for a few years now & find them to be very durable, dependable, easy to use.

Meter is accurate, small, backlight is bright, magnet is strong, takes all the readings you really need for the majority of electrical work. Compact size makes it nice for keeping your tool bag lightweight. Meter is a good but.
