The FLIR DM284 Imaging Multimeter with IGM Technology has been developed by FLIR to allow users to more quickly and more accurately detect electrical problems. With its built-in 160X120 thermal sensor and IGM technology, the DM284 is able to point to the exact location of electrical problems through hotspots during the troubleshooting process. Instead of connecting to each individual component, users can easily use the thermal imager to scan all components and observe where the problem lies. After finding the location of the issue with the thermal imager, use the DM284’s Multimeter functions to confirm your findings and obtain exact measurements.
The FLIR Universal Flex Current Probe accessories are designed to add capabilities, simplify challenges, and get the best readings with your existing meter. Made with a narrow flexible coil clamp and locking mechanism, the TA72 and TA74 let you easily take measurements in tight or awkward spots a difficult task with a traditional hard jaw clamp meter.

If the resolution of the DM284 is 160x120 why is it almost the same price as the Flir C2?
Even though the resolution of the DM284 is over 400% higher than the C2 the price is very similar. The C2 has the ability to store images where the DM284 does not. If you do not need to save the image the DM284 is an incredible value for a thermal imager with a 160x120 resolution. The C2 also has MSX built into the unit which adds a level of contrast to enhance the image.
I am comparing this to the Fluke thermal Multimeter. What is the difference in resolution?
The Fluke 279FC has a 80x60 thermal image and the Flir DM284 has a 160x120 thermal resolution.
Can you save images with the DM284?
The unit cannot save images. It gives you a visual reference for finding hot spots by seeing the thermal image.
