Provides TRMS AC/DC Current & Voltage measurements upto 1000A and 600V respectively and has a built in non-contact IR Thermometer with a laser pointer for locating hot spots up to 270°C. The Extech EX830 clamp on multimeter is also capable of measuring resistance, capacitance, frequency, diode and continuity. This ergonomically designed AC/DC clamp meter ensures accuracy by providing True RMS readings and is the perfect tool for HVACR and electrical professionals working on both commercial and industrial environments. The EX830 clampmeter has a jaw opening size of 43mm that will fit conductors up to 750MCM and has a CAT III 600V rating.

I have had one of these for more than a decade. Great meter. Reliable and low battery consumption(auto-off).I have used temperature sensor to detect dragging brake shoes on a truck.Great all-round tool.

Nice meter for welding QA/QC
This is a nice meter for QA/QC for welding since it has the DC amp clamp and IR for preheat and inter-pass temps, and for finding hot spots and resistance locating.
