The temps widely vary, we bought 6 of these total, and two have stopped working right. Sad thing is we bought these during the pandemic at $150 each, and now they are $24.99. I think we got taken. Was to be a good quality and I am disappointed we paid $900 on something that is $150 for 6.

Unlike most people who would be more concerned about checking for fever, I have been measuring outdoor temperature changes. Not only will this differentiate between hot and cold days like a weather thermometer, but also by aiming at various objects I can see variations.

I just use this for home use with my family, it’s easy, fast, and accurate. Measure the kids boom boom boom boom done. Best would be to have switchable IR vision through my glasses, but this will suffice.

Purchased this for myself. I have to receive a bunch of turned in equipment from many students at the end of each semester and just wanted an extra safeguard for myself. It works fantastically! There is an extra setting that I was not aware of when I purchased it that measures 'surface' temperature. It's range is limited from 32 to 140 degrees but that has also been helpful. This setting is NOT accurate for body temp and you don't have to be 'as close' to the item as when checking body temperature. Great unit! Caught a GREAT sale!

The Best IR Body And Surface thermometer.

I've tried several brand of IR thermometer, the reading wasn't even close to my temporal thermometer. Only had it for about 2 to three months, and use by my family and relatives, trying to double check our status before going out in public spaces due to Covid19. So far the reading was close to or the same reading when we got checked in the entrance of the place we're going. And this IR thermometer can be calibrated one of the reason I bought it.

IR200 will prob go into history as THE pandemic thermometer

After using another nurses one shift I had to get one of these for myself. It's the best one in my opinion, and for being the best the price is actually affordable. Be sure you calibrate it when you get it. It takes two seconds to calibrate it. You take an oral temp then go into the menu and adjust the F3 setting up or down until scanning from the forehead reads the same as the oral thermometer. Then you're good to go. Oh, also scanning different parts of the face gives different results, it's normal. Look at an infrared picture of a face and it's super obvious how there's variations in temp across it. The IR200 came with really good instructions, and it paid off to read them and watch some vids on youtube. I was surprised what I didn't know, but I get it now and feel super confident with mine.

The Extech IR200 is now the only unit being used by our medical staff. No other units have proven as accurate or durable. The range on the IR200 is superior. With all staff trained on one model, we calibrate the units together regularly and are able to know we have accurate, repeatable results across multiple IR200 units. Compared to these the others are like toys.

During Covid-19, our company needed non-contact thermometers and this fit the bill perfectly. Extech is a reputable industrial measurement device company. We bought 50 units and we are quite pleased with its performance. Just make sure to read the instructions for calibration. Selectable from F/C whereas other only do C. And can switch from human body measurement to actual surface temperature which is a plus. Very happy with purchase and will buy more.

Ordered 2 of these and neither of them are even close to being accurate. Upon unboxing we checked 5 individuals and 4 had temps of 101-102 and the other had temp of 96.1. Very disappointed these didn't work out. So much for the /- the half degree the tolerance states. These thermometers may be able to tell you if the individual is currently alive, but I wouldn't expect much more than that out them.

Product lists accuray as 0.5 degrees F. However, product is not accurate. On multiple attempts temp. ranges from 96.2-98 degrees. That is a 2 degree range. How can that be helpful?
