We had recently purchased a 'standard' 4-channel oscilloscope, but when we realized that the thing was grounded to earth and all four channels grounded to each other and to earth and that the ground was also connected to a metal tab on the chassis, we found that we could not measure power circuits and control circuits simultaneously without spending another $3000 on differential probes. We returned the device. For the price of one differential probe, we purchased the Pico 4444 Cat III. It does everything we need - and facilitates recording output by employing a PC. We love its flexibility - it is a tool that we will use for many years to come.
