I needed a meter that would measure AC/DC voltage and current in both mA/uA. When it comes to tools I subscribe to the buy once cry once adage. The improved Battery life and ruggedness of the 87V-Max model is well worth the cost difference. Highly recommended

The leads that came are really nice with a rubber coating. Don't seem to tangle like cheap plastic leads. Easy to use and feels solid. Love the glow in the dark buttons too.

Fluke 87V Max

Phone order assistance was great, got the Fluke 87V Max so am well satisfied with purchase. After dropping a previous meter (Fluke 177) and seeing that the performance did not suffer, though the case wasn't in the greatest of shape. Good old duct tape has held it together for the last couple years. Finally decided that I needed to retire the 177, looked at the specifications and decided that this was the one I wanted to purchase, as a side reason I specifically wanted to have the drop factor as a consideration. I am well satisfied with this purchase.

I had been eyeing an 87V for a while and decided to go with the Max. I feel it is worth the extra $50 to get one that will survive if I drop it (very likely) or get it wet (less likely, but you never know). The only cons are the size (I knew it was big, but it takes some getting used to compared to my previous meters). The leads seem to be high quality.
