DG1022Z is a good signal genrator to have.

Bought it mostly for RF and IF alignments of radios, receivers, and tuners. I've been looking for a good sweep generator for a long time, which is the primary reason for buying this one. So far this unit is doing a fine job. Also impressed with the noise generator. Overall the controls are easy enough to figure out without a manual.

Seems to work good. I have only had this unit for a few days but so far it seems to work very well. I purchased this unit with a Rigol MSO4024 oscilloscope and have mainly used it to test the scope so far. All I can say is that the scope and this unit match up with each other so that's enough to convince me that it is working. It has enough features for my purposes and is pretty intuitive to use. I just started playing with it without reading the instructions without any issues.

Pretty good AWG for the price

I will admit, I already had an Instek function gen, but got this one also since it had a higher bandwidth and a lot more buttons. Rigol has made a huge splash on the lower end of the test equipment market lately. I'm sure it's in no small part due to their time making oscilloscopes for Agilent. In any case, this is a really good AWG for the money. The specs are on par if not better than anything else in this price range. The user interface is OK, but sometimes it seems a little convoluted; certainly something you'll soon become accustomed to.

Positive: * Both Channels work great from 1Hz - 25MHz no problem on Sine waves. * Easy to use: Voltage Scale and Time Scale * AM/FM Integration Negatives: * Both Channels work semi great from 1Hz - 25MHz on Square and Ramp. Its maximum freq is actually smaller than 25MHz but the generator allows it to be over it which does not make sense. Ideally if you try and set it to 25MHz the wave is distorted. * One BNC Cable is sent. No Probes or Nothing beyond that. * This is an Arb Generator so the waveform on some freq may not look the best in some modes. I wish the Arb generator had better sine wave points (not critical to operation).

I have not had a chance to try the arb function or test its interoperability with the Rigol DS1054Z oscilloscope, but I have used the unit to generate test patterns for an FPGA. For the money, this unit is a great value. Controls are very intuitive and I have yet to open the manual. The only negative I noticed is that the rise/fall times look a little slow compared to more expensive units. When I select a 20 MHz square wave, it outputs essentially a distorted sine wave. This is not a factor for my needs, however

I am an Electronics Engineer with 50 years of experience and recently purchased DG1022z signal generator. I was attracted to the DG1022Z because of the very complete list of specifications as compared to other similar generators. Most for the price!

This is the most I could find for my money. Low harmonic distortion on the sine wave. Multiple output waveforms with calibrated output in multiple units, and a adjustable output impedance, just for starters. I believe this is all you could wish for in a unit at this price range. Worked out of the box and hasn't failed me yet!

I can't begin to compare this generator to my older units. I have used this a few times to date and haven't been able to find any short comings. Really liked this generator

Spent a lot of time comparing this to the Siglent models, reading the online manuals, comparing functions and prices, etc. Decided the screen and controls layout just seemed more obvious on the Rigol, and finally went with it. Very pleased so far, fairly intuitive to do most things with it, and only had to dive into the manual to find out what else it could do beyond my typical t-shoot needs. Really like that it can do so many modulation types for checking out receivers. Wished I could have afforded higher freq,but really didn't need it, and for most VHF/UHF work I can get by with just an analog RF sig gen on the front end, and use this one for the IF strip or further into the radio for the work I need to do at a more economical cost. Very happy with it, would recommend it to others. Only thing I missed was that I should have bought a bag for it right off the bat, I need to carry it other places than the test bench at times.

Unbeatable for the price

Had this a few weeks and have gotten a chance to use it for a client project. I've left this on for about the last week and it hasn't skipped a beat. The screen is VERY nice compared to the older style Rigol function generators, much more information and easier to navigate. I wish the viewing angles were just a little higher as I have it up on a shelf and the lower contrast areas of the screen get a little washed out, but all in all it's not a big deal. The buttons all feel very nice and the output is very stable and clean. I love it! For <$400 I don't think you'll find a reason to complain about this one.

Very Impressed

I was very impressed with the features of this generator, particularly the wide variety of built-in waveforms. The menu system is easy to navigate and the feel of the controls are excellent. I can't comment on the longevity of the device yet but it appears to be a well made instrument.

Great Functionality and Value

Color me happy. I'm a long time user of the Agilent 33220 AWFGs and this Rigol gets me everything I need at a 1/4 of the cost. Front panel operation is straightforward; haven't used remote control yet. The transaction with Tequipment was smooth and speedy.

Ease of use

Our interest was primarily remote control of the DG1022Z. Remote programming has been quick and easy using our own software (C#). The price versus capabilities of this waveform generator is impressive. Reason for four stars instead of five: The main drawback so far has been the ability to synchronize and/or simultaneously trigger the two channels using software. Otherwise it would get five stars.

New Rigol DG1022Z

First impressions of my new Rigol DG1022Z arbitrary waveform generator are quite positive. The DG1022Z arrived in perfect condition and was very well packaged. It is well made and the display and controls are intuitive and easy to use. All aspects of the DG1022Z appear to be functioning. I'll give the DG1022Z the benefit of the doubt, for now, regarding absolute performance and accuracy and determine these as I use it. So far, I'm very pleased with my DG1022Z generator.
