| PowerSight Manager (PSM) is a flexible,
powerful, and easy to use power analysis software tool. It combines
graphical analysis of data logs and waveforms with before/after
report generation, special modes of operation, and control of
PowerSight instruments. This exciting product works with Microsoft
Windows 95 all the way through Windows XP. PSM is perfect for
analysis of all utility powers: 1 phase, 2 phase, 3 phase, 3-1/2
phase, phase-phase, phase-neutral, AC/DC, and 20Hz to 440Hz. When
connected to the PowerSight Energy Analyzer, PSM can obtain real-time
and stored waveforms of seven channels of power inputs. These
waveforms can be graphed individually or in combination. Complete
harmonic analysis with bar charts or raw data can be obtained
at the push of one key. Any display can be printed in full color.
Similarly, data logs from PowerSight can be downloaded by PSM
and displayed for analysis. Detailed logs of demand and disturbances
from minutes to weeks are easily handled. Zoom and labeling functions
allow precise analysis and display of the data of interest. Data
log displays contain 60 different measurement types including
voltage, current, true power, apparent power, VAR, power factor,
energy, frequency, and harmonic distortion of each phase.
For custom analysis, all log data stored by PSM is accessible
as text files that are directly compatible with Excel and other
spreadsheet programs. The user interface makes complicated analysis
remarkably easy. First-time users and occasional users quickly
become productive.
The Report Generator software provides concise reports to document
findings. Comparison reports are excellent for presenting before/after
comparisons of power usage and projected cost. Separate logs can
be compared or sections of the same log can be compared for this
analysis. Summary reports summarize the data of a log or a designated
section of the log.
An integrated knowledge system provides basic information about
power analysis including definitions of all measurement terms
and concepts, proper hookups to measure various power systems,
and tutorials.
The user can select one of several languages.
Summit Technology offers energy analysis Report Generator software
for Windows. Report Generator allows users to make customized,
professional and concise summary and comparison reports derived
from the data of data logs. The PowerSight line of Energy Analyzers
generates the data logs.
PowerSight logs contain three-phase and single-phase AC and DC
power data. Summary reports summarize the results of a test into
brief tabular format. The user chooses what timeframe to summarize,
what variables to list in the report, and whether to include graphics.
This type of report provides an excellent status record for systems
and processes.
Comparison reports compare the data of two different segments
of the same data log or two different data logs. Comparisons between
logs typically present "before" versus "after"
comparisons to prove savings of energy or cost. Comparisons between
times within logs typically present peak load versus idle load
comparisons. Since the user selects which variables to include
in the report, the report can be quite extensive (70 variables
such as voltage, current, power factor, watts, VA, VAR, cost,
THD, frequency) for record keeping or quite minimal to increase
the impact of the results.
Sellers and buyers of energy saving devices appreciate the ability
to summarize before/after tests onto an 8-1/2 x 11 sheet with
before and after energy use and cost. The difference between the
before and after results are documented in both absolute and percentage
terms. A claimed 15% savings in energy use per month could be
documented and presented clearly to the decision-makers.
