This is the ultimate test kit! In one sturdy case is three handheld devices:
the ZOOM II power meter, Dual OWL and Laser OWL light sources. This kit is ideal
for LAN managers and installers who need to do attenuation tests on their
multimode and singlemode networks.
The ZOOM II is an economical fiber optic power meter that
provides accurate testing of multimedia fiber cables when used with
a 850nm multimode light source. The 4 digit 7 segment LCD display
shows power readings with a resolution of 0.01dB, power units in dB
or dBm or uW, and battery power level. The ZOOM II comes configured
with a 2.5mm universal port for connection to SC,ST and other connector
types that have a 2.5mm ferrule
The Dual OWL is an 850/1300nm Nist traceable multimode light source. Its
dual wavelength outputs are temperature-stabilized for accurate measurements.
The Dual OWL has two connector options: ST or SC.
The Laser OWL is an 1310nm/1550nm Nist traceable singlemode light source. Its
dual wavelength output is temperature stabilized for accurate measurements. The Dual
OWL has three connector options: ST,SC or FC.
The current ZOOM II series meters come standard with a small
state-of-the-art UNIVERSAL adapter fully reliable to allow use of
ST, SC, FC or any 2.5 mm patch cables as test cable, which saves
money on consumables (test cables wear out). Sorry, physics and
optics do not allow the same universal connector to work well on
any brand of the light source. Hence, light sources must have ST,
SC, or FC connector ports.
