  Description

The Magni AVM-510A is the latest addition to Magni's multi-standard video signal monitor product line. The AVM-510A Automated Video Monitor is a rasterizing waveform monitor and vectorscope with 4-channel audio level metering, and automated measurement screens that provide numerical values for all important video parameters. These values can be used to generate alarms and reports on out of limit signal conditions. The AVM-510A serves as the platform for a wide range of analog and digital monitoring solutions and includes versions tailored to transmitter measurements (AVM-510A-T), and component measurements (AVM-510A-C). The AVM-510A addresses major television formats such as NTSC, PAL, S-Video, and Component (EBU, Beta, M-II, GBR). Its display outputs are provided in standard Composite and S-video, and in TIFF format through the RS-232 port.

The on-screen displays include picture, waveform, vector, audio metering, and measurement data, for output to color picture monitors, eliminating the size constraints and errors of the direct view, monochrome analog CRTs. With its patented Adaptive Graticule, the AVM-510A allows individual measurements to be displayed in different colors, eliminating the clutter and associated problems inherent with internal and external graticules required by analog CRTs.

The AVM-510A is packed with features that enable comprehensive monitoring and measurement of live video and test signals. Among these are: . Dual standard (NTSC, PAL) and multi-format (Beta, MII, S-Video, EBU, GBR) . Measurement displays with numeric readouts on critical signal parameters . Remote control interface for status, error and scheduled reporting . Real time clock and VITC time code readout for archiving . Loss of video and audio alarm plus status reporting . Waveform, vector and VITS displays for set up and common operational requirements . Programmable limits activate display and ground closure alarms on parameters that include: horizontal blanking width, peak video, APL, sync and burst amplitudes, peak luminance, SC/H phasing, H and burst reference timing, signal-to-noise, audio amplitude.
