The LG 3802 ISDB-T Signal Generator with OP70 & OP72 from Leader is a test signal generator with OFDM capability that conforms to ISDB-T (Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting-Terrestrial) standards for digital terrestrial TV systems in Japan. This instrument features a coding, modulation, and C/N generator, as well as an upconverter.

This instrument features signal generator and BER measurement capability in a single package. The BER function is used to measure the front-end section while the MPEG2-TS function is used to visually check the entire system. The MPEG2-TS applied from the DVB-ASI or DVBSPI connector can be encoded or modulated in real time. Beyond MPEG2-TS broadcasting, TS prescribed in ARIB standards can also be used. In addition to digital terrestrial TV broadcasting, this instrument can be used for the connected segment transmission of 1, 3, and 8 segments in digital terrestrial audio broadcasting.

The transmission parameter can be arbitrarily set via the front panel controls and the LCD graphically displays the setting conditions. Up to (100) presets can be stored in the unit's memory and can further be categorized into (10) groups. This model comes complete with two modules that are typically optional. The OP70 Moving Picture Option allows for the hard drive and DVD-ROM to stream HDTV content and play back long-time TS from the hard drive. The OP72 Fading Option allows fading noise to be added to mobile and portable receivers to check ghost and multi-pass.
