Description
The optional SIMCHECK II SOJ ADAPTER (INN-8558-5) is designed to be a universal tool for testing most 20-pin to 42-pin SOJ chips. This adapter readily supports 256Kx4, 1Mx4, 1Mx1, 4Mx1, 4Mx4, 16Mx1, 1Mx16, 8Mx8, 16Mx4 and 2Mx8.
The SIM II SOJ Adapter is conveniently installed in the 90-pin expansion slot, and is automatically recognized by SIMCHECK II.

Operation
This tester connects to SIMCHECK II via the expansion slot. Plug the adapter into the expansion port only when SIMCHECK II is off.
Caution: Failure to turn SIMCHECK II OFF when connecting or disconnecting the SIM II SOJ ADAPTER may result in damage to the PAL chip of the SIM II SOJ ADAPTER!
Handling the SOJ chips: Pin 1 of the SOJ chip is usually marked with a dot. Place the chip in the socket so that pin 1 points away from you. Also, make sure that the markings on the top of the chip face up (this is called "LIVE BUG" insertion). Insert the chip carefully as far as it will go. Use a common chip/IC extractor tool to remove the chip.
Once the SOJ chip is inserted, press F1 to start the test. The test procedure is exactly the same as our regular module test.
NOTES:
1. YOU CAN TEST ONLY ONE CHIP AT A TIME!
2. If you are not sure about the size of the chip, you may experiment safely with the adapter's sockets until SIMCHECK II is able to identify the chip's size.
