Works on most refrigerants, less on R-22. Try the SRL8 for a pin point target. The SRL2 is more of an area detector and works hand-in-hand with the SRL8.

Biggest piece of junk I ever purchased

I have used this on several calls only to never have it detect anything yet. The worst example that made my final determination it is junk was when I went on a call which was 10 pounds low on R-22. I tested carefully, making sure now to move too slowly as per the instructions. Never indicated a leak. I visually found oil saturated insulation on the suction line and it still would never indicate a leak until I finally put the end of the tester in the insulation and literally wrap the oil saturated insulation around it. Pretty bad when you can visually find the leak and your tester doesn't.
