Gas Hunter Combustible Gas Leak Detector
The Gas Hunter is a versatile instrument capable of measuring levels of combustible gas, O2, CO, and pressure.
In the field, the Gas Hunter does the job of seven individual instruments to optimize technician efficiency in leak survey operations and customer service calls. It is able to sniff out combustible gases from part per million levels to 100% by volume through auto-ranging. But there's more. The Gas Hunter is also able to measure the levels of %O2 and ppm CO, and measure pressure in the range of 0.0 to 27.7 inH2O.
Leak Search
The PPM range of the Gas Sampling mode offers visual, segmented bar-graph, and audible detection of natural gas leaks from 50 ppm to 2,500 ppm. The Hunter serves as an excellent tool for tracking down small leaks; replacing messy soap bubble solutions and broadband MOS type instruments.
Leak Survey
Higher concentrations of natural gas are easily measured from 0.2 to 100% volume gas with no operator intervention. Auto-ranging makes leak investigations and bar-holing operations simple through Bacharach’s patented sensing technology. This minimizes operator training and eliminates confusing range settings, over-range messages and damage to catalytic sensors as a result of high gas concentration exposure.
Carbon Monoxide Calls
The 0-1000 ppm carbon monoxide function eliminates yet another instrument that the First Responder must carry on the job. Residential CO surveys are reliably and easily performed with the Gas Hunter. In addition, oxygen and combustible gas levels are monitored simultaneously, but displayed through individual readings.
Air-Free Carbon Monoxide
In some situations, ambient measurement of carbon monoxide alone may not be adequate. ANSI Z21.1 standard requires an Air-Free calculation for appliance emissions in furnace flues, oven vents and space heaters. Both ambient and air-free carbon monoxide measurement are readily available in the Gas Hunter.
Confined Space Entry
In the safety mode, audible and visual alarms are activated at OSHA preset levels for combustibles (in the lower Explosive Level), carbon monoxide and oxygen (in enriched and deficient atmospheres). The Gas Hunter serves as a trusty watchdog for technicians working in vaults, trenches or other confined areas.
Pressure Monitor
Who is to say that a combustible gas detector must be limited to just detecting gas? The addition of low range (0.0 to 27.7" wc) pressure function further separates the Gas Hunter from the competition. Aside from one less tool to carry to the worksite, this function eliminates the use of messy liquid monometers and erratic spring gauges. It gives the service tech the convenience of quick, accurate gas pressure checks on regulators and appliance manifolds.
Draft Gauge
In the flue mode, the Hunter offers yet another tool alternative in the 0.00 to negative 28" of water column draft function. This enables the service technician to utilize a more accurate and sophisticated method to check draft in hot water tanks and furnace flues.
A wide range of accessories are available such as a hard carrying case, a soft carrying case, a service line pressure kit, a flue probe, a water trap and 30" barhole probes.
